District Taco is opening in Silver Spring.
The D.C.-area taco chain announced Monday it will open a restaurant in the former space of Oriental East in The Blairs Shopping Center at 1312 East West Highway. The popular dim sum spot closed suddenly in September.
This will be the first Montgomery County location for District Taco and its second in Maryland; another location is in Riverdale Park in Prince George’s County. Most of the chain’s other 13 locations are in D.C. and Virginia.
“It's about time our amigos in Montgomery County got a DT of their own. We like fun communities with a lot of energy and Silver Spring definitely has that!” Osiris Hoil, the CEO and co-founder, wrote in a press release statement. “Silver Spring has been on our radar for a long time.”
The company did not say when the location would open.
District Taco offers Yucatan-inspired tacos as well as burritos, quesadillas and nachos. It also serves breakfast options all day and offers a selection of toppings and salsas.
